Fongyee Walker

A Master of Wine and co-founder of Dragon Phoenix Wine Consulting, Fongyee Walker has spent over two decades shaping wine education in China. After earning an MPhil in Ancient Chinese from Cambridge University, she moved to Beijing in 2007 and became the first Master of Wine based in mainland China in 2016.

Fongyee has led countless wine education programs, masterclasses, and tours, helping both professionals and enthusiasts deepen their understanding of wine in the context of Chinese culture and cuisine. She has appeared in the award-winning documentary Red Obsession, co-hosted Carpe Vinum, one of China’s most-watched wine shows, and produced Waking the Sleeping Dragon, a documentary screened at the Venice Film Festival. Her writing has been featured in The World of Fine Wine, Decanter China, and Wine in China, earning her multiple awards for contributions to the industry.

With a passion for bridging Eastern and Western wine traditions, Fongyee brings a fresh perspective to wine travel, offering immersive experiences that blend education with China’s rich gastronomic heritage.
