Born in Beijing in 1953, Guo Jianying obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in computer engineering and science from Tsinghua University and Peking University respectively. He always held a deep interest in music appreciation and anthropology, and has widely browsed works in the fields of philosophy and aesthetics.
Guo Jiangying co-translated and published Wagner and Philosophy in Chinese, and most recently, completed the publication of There is only noise left, listen to the 20th century in March 2020.
