About this Journey
Foshan is one of China’s great furniture capitals, where vast flagship showrooms and world-class manufacturing sit alongside martial arts heritage, Lingnan architecture, and some of the finest Cantonese cuisine in the region. This journey pairs direct access to premium residential furniture sourcing with time to experience the city’s cultural character, from centuries-old temples to the energy of everyday life beyond China’s first-tier centers.

Designed specifically for homeowners and project decision-makers preparing for a residential renovation, villa fit-out, or full home furnishing project, this is first and foremost a sourcing-led journey, with cultural exploration woven in along the way. Guests are encouraged to arrive ready to evaluate options, refine specifications, and move with confidence toward factory-direct purchasing decisions.

In partnership with Beyond Showrooms, specialists in direct-to-factory sourcing for residential projects.
What we love
  • A deeper look at China in one of the country’s great manufacturing cities
  • Centuries of heritage at Zumiao Temple, paired with exceptional Cantonese cuisine

Itinerary

Pre-Trip Preparation & Sourcing Briefing

Before arrival, you will be connected with a Beyond Showrooms sourcing consultant for a short preparation process shaped around your project. At this stage, you may choose to share floor plans or layouts, key dimensions, and any early style or material references.

Depending on your readiness and timeline, this process may either confirm a focused shortlist of Foshan factories aligned with your preferred style, quality level, and budget, or begin narrowing toward specific furniture solutions in advance, so that your time on the ground is guided less by browsing and more by purposeful comparison and decision-making.

Day 1Arrival in Foshan

Arrive in Foshan via Guangzhou, Hong Kong, or Shenzhen, where you are met by your WildChina guide and transferred by private vehicle to the Sofitel Foshan. Rising above the city and directly connected to the Louvre Furniture Expo Center, the hotel is more than a convenient base, it is a design destination in its own right. Drawing on Modern, Post-Modern, Neo-Chinese, and French influences, its interiors are layered with carved wood, marble, and regional materials, creating the feel of a living furniture museum.

After check-in, enjoy time at leisure to settle in or begin exploring the Louvre Furniture Expo Center, an enormous multi-floor complex of flagship showrooms and fully styled interior environments. Here, the scale of Foshan’s design ecosystem begins to reveal itself.

In the early evening, experience a private Southern Lion Dance performance, an art form deeply rooted in Foshan’s martial arts traditions. Later, gather for a welcome dinner with your guide, who will introduce the days ahead and offer insight into the city’s wider furniture and design landscape.

Day 2Curated Factory Visits

Today is the core sourcing day of the journey. Visit three carefully selected factory showrooms, each matched in advance to your brief and chosen to reflect different strengths in design language, material quality, customization capability, and value positioning.

These are not conventional retail spaces, but immersive multi-floor flagship environments where complete residential collections are presented across living, dining, bedroom, home office, and outdoor settings. As you move through each showroom, you will meet directly with factory sales and product teams and have the optoin to discuss finishes, dimensions, materials, bespoke options, and pricing.

Throughout the day, your sourcing consultant remains alongside you to help navigate comparisons, clarify the differences in capaiblities between various factories, and identify the factories best suited to your needs. By day’s end, you will have established a clear sourcing direction and developed a shortlist for final follow-up.

Day 3Sourcing Follow-Up and Foshan Heritage

Return this morning to your preferred shortlisted factory for a more focused follow-up session. With the initial landscape now clear, this visit allows time to refine selections, review dimensions and finishes, compare customization options, and move closer to final decisions. For guests with more complex requirements, this additional sourcing window can be invaluable.

In the afternoon, shift from the showroom floor to the cultural heart of the city with a visit to Zumiao Temple, one of Foshan’s oldest and most revered landmarks. Its elegant architecture, carved details, and deep links to the city’s martial traditions offer a striking counterpoint to the contemporary design world explored over the previous days.

As evening falls, continue to Lingnan Tiandi, where restored historic architecture now houses stylish cafés, boutiques, and contemporary lifestyle spaces. It is a relaxed and atmospheric setting in which to experience another side of Foshan.

Day 4Final Decisions or Foshan at Leisure

Today remains intentionally flexible, depending on the scope of your project and how far your sourcing decisions have progressed. For many guests, the morning will be best used for a final round of factory follow-up — confirming selections, refining specifications, and advancing toward order placement with clarity and confidence.

For those whose sourcing objectives are already well defined, the day may instead offer one final cultural window into Foshan — perhaps through a private introductory Kung Fu workshop, a visit to the elegant Liang Garden, or time among the ceramic traditions of Nanfeng Ancient Kiln.

Later, transfer by private vehicle to Guangzhou or Hong Kong for your onward journey.
