A wildfire broke out in Huangshan township of Lijiang City yesterday morning.  According to China-Daily.org, at least 14 hectares (about 35 acres) were affected.

WildChina’s on-the-ground partner reports that the fire has been contained, but the cause of the fire is currently still under investigation. Our partner also says that Lijiang itself, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was not affected as the fires were up in the mountains located to the south of the city proper.

We will follow the situation closely and send you the latest updates.
